I’m Lee – a local person in Ninh Binh, in this article, I want to share my own travel experience in Ninh Binh and schedule of self-exploring Ninh Binh. I hope that these experiences will help you have the most interesting Ninh Binh trip.
Where is Ninh Binh? How far from Hanoi?
About 100km south of Hanoi, Ninh Binh is a province in the Northern Delta. Ninh Binh tourism with many beautiful landscapes both in terms of landscape and historical significance has become the choice of many young people who want to explore.
In my hometown, the most beautiful and proud is Trang An eco-tourism area which was called the South of the ancient capital Hoa Lu. With limestone ranges with a geological age of about 250 million years, along with beautiful natural scenery and tranquility as paradise, Trang An has been recognized as a double world heritage site by UNESCO in 2014.
The best travel time in Ninh Binh
You can travel to Ninh Binh in all seasons. However, the best time to go is from November to March. In spring weather, this place is not too cold or too hot. Tourists can combine tourism and spring tourism to visit the temple, the temple ceremony. In addition, the end of May and early June is the time of the ripe rice season in Tam Coc, very suitable for tourists who like to take photos.
Trang An water lily season (autumn)
Back to Trang An in the fall, you will be amazed at the peaceful beauty of the sky and the sky with the blue Sao Khe river full of water lily. Not colorful, only a pure white, a pale pink but makes you bewildered like lost in the fairyland.
If Trang An tourism is too peaceful, you should go to the Mua cave which is considered the “Great Wall” of Vietnam. To conquer Mua cave, you must conquer 486 steps but must be ready to overcome this challenge. When you reach the top of the mountain, you will definitely be screamed by the beautiful scenery, from the top of Mua cave, overlooking the road to Tam Coc Bich Dong. In the ripe rice season, this place will be covered with a bright yellow color, by the end of the year, it will be green again. Standing on this, you will see each group of boats heading to Bich Dong in the distance. All make a beautiful picture.
The golden rice season in Tam Coc (summer)
The summertime from the end of May to July (the ripe rice season) is the time when Tam Coc welcomes the most tourists. Especially, in the last 2 weeks of May and the beginning of June, the rice field is ripe and golden.
Not only Vietnamese visitors, but Tam Coc is also a destination that attracts a lot of foreign visitors to explore and experience. Motorbikes and bicycles are the most popular mode of transportation for tourists to enjoy the scenery on the dirt road of the countryside.
Tam Coc (three caves) includes Ca cave, Hai cave, and Ba cave. All three caves formed by the Ngo Dong river pierce the mountains … This place is like Ha Long on the mainland with charming charm, especially this is also one of the places put into the blockbuster movie “Kong: Skull Island” has just been released on March 2017, so more and more domestic and international tourists are interested.
Cuc Phuong National Park
Located deep inside the Tam Diep mountain range, there is a land that has become extremely familiar, evoking curiosity for many domestic and foreign tourists, which is Cuc Phuong National Park – National Park first part of Vietnam. In addition to the rich flora and fauna ecosystem in Cuc Phuong National Park, you can also participate in eco-tourism, resort, campfire, adventure, research, and cultural history programs. Especially if you come to Cuc Phuong at the end of April and May, you will be immersed in the scene with thousands of butterfly wings (be careful not to be allergic to butterfly pollen).
Bai Dinh Pagoda white reed season (winter)
This season, Bai Dinh is beautiful as an oasis of freshness, tranquility, and simplicity with a clean white color. Feel the cold of winter with bright yellow sunlight will make visitors come to the reeds.
Reed is a herbaceous plant, about 2m high and has extremely strong vitality, often in full bloom in early winter. When young, reeds are pure white. From above, looking down the reed, spreading like a thousand eyes, covering a sacred land.
